MEMBERSHIP – Congratulations to all…..We have made our first target date of 50% scheduled for September 10, 2008. A membership report is included with this mailing; however, there are still Posts that are on ZERO.
If your District has a Post that is still on zero, please contact that Post ASAP and offer your assistance. As of today, the following Districts have Posts on zero and need help –
1st District - 28,
6th District – 71, 101 & 591
8th District – 79, 317 & 511
9th District – 318
10th District – 14 & 39
12th District – 91
THE AMERICAN LEGION EXTENSION INSTITUTE is back, and the order form is included. Cost is only $6.95 per set and it is well worth the money. This course was developed to provide a more informed and better educated Legion Family. Please encourage all members to take advantage of this excellent learning tool and order their course today!
CARAVAN DATES scheduled for January 16-17, 2009. The times and places of the visits will be provided by the District Commanders. Please be aware that each Post Constitution and By-Laws will be checked during the
Caravan. If you have not done a recent update, you should do so before the Caravan visit. All Posts should have a copy of their Constitution and By-Laws on file at Department Headquarters.
FALL CONFERENCE will be held in Macon during the week-end of October 24-26, 2008. Rooms are going fast so make your reservations as soon as possible. The form must be completed with a credit card number or a personal check. The deposit for one night, including taxes is $67.80.
YOUTH CHAMPIONS BANQUET will be held during the Fall Conference week-end on Saturday night, October 25th. The cost of the banquet is $22.00 per person. Please support our YOUTH PROGRAMS by buying and attending the banquet.
ORATORICAL INFORMATION is included with this mailing. For additional information, please contact your District Chairman, or the Department Chairman, James Earnhardt. Remember the contest starts in January, so contact should be made with the schools ASAP!
